This page explains, in plain terms, what The Boundary Stone records about what you do on the site and who can see it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which is the fuller legal document. Where the two differ, the Privacy Policy governs.
We wrote this separately because one thing here deserves more than a clause buried in a longer document.
The short version
When you use The Boundary Stone with an agent, that agent can see what you search for and which properties you look at. So can their broker.
That is deliberate. It is how your agent learns what you actually want instead of guessing, and how they send you properties worth your time rather than everything on the market.
But you should know it before you start, not discover it later.
What we record
Before you have an account
If you browse without signing in, we record:
- the pages you visit and the searches you run
- a randomly generated session number that links one visit together
- when you visited and how long you stayed
This is not connected to your name, because at that point we do not know it. If you create an account later in the same visit, the activity from that visit may be connected to your new account.
Once you have an account
We record:
- Your searches, in the words you typed. Not just a tidied-up version — the actual sentence. If you type "3 bedroom with a shop and no HOA under 400k," that sentence is stored.
- Which listings you open, save, favourite, and ask about, and when.
- Your saved searches, along with a snapshot of what they returned at the time.
- A snapshot of the listing details and community rule findings as they appeared when you looked, so that a conversation weeks later refers to what you actually saw rather than to what has since changed.
- Your messages with your agent through the site.
- How you use the site — which pages, which features, how long.
What we do not record
- We do not store your IP address. We scramble it into an unreadable value used only to stop abuse and block bots.
- We do not ask for your location. The site never requests location permission from your browser or phone.
- We do not store your card details. If you ever pay us, Stripe handles that and we never see the number.
- We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
A word about typing freely
The search box takes ordinary sentences, which is the point. But it means you might type something personal without thinking about it — a health condition, a disability, your religion, or something about your family.
Please don't. We store what you type as you typed it, and your agent can read it.
Two things we want to be clear about:
- If you need a home feature for a health or mobility reason, describe the feature — "single storey," "wide doorways," "roll-in shower." That gets you better results anyway, and it keeps the reason to yourself.
- We will never sort or filter homes by race, colour, religion, sex, disability, family status, or national origin. If a search asks us to, we decline and offer a neutral alternative. That is the law and it is also our position.
Who can see it

If your agent leaves their brokerage, records about you may be divided between that agent and the brokerage. Where you have signed a representation agreement, that agreement is with the brokerage under Texas law. You can always tell us and them who you want to work with.
Artificial intelligence
Some features use AI to understand your search, answer questions about community rules, and help your agent write to you. When you use one, your question and the documents needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider for processing.
Your information is not used to train AI models. Our agreement with the provider does not permit it.
Your choices
Browse without an account. You will still be counted as an anonymous visitor, but nothing is tied to your name and no agent sees it.
Decline the agent relationship. If an agent invites you and you would rather not have your activity visible to them, do not accept.
Ask us what we hold. Email privacy@theboundarystone.com and we will tell you, correct it, or delete it. The Privacy Policy explains the full process, the timeframes, and how to appeal if we say no.
Turn off emails. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe. You can also manage notification settings in your account.
One honest limitation. Some information about you also lives in your agent's and their brokerage's records, and in the MLS. We can delete what is ours. We will tell you plainly what is not.
